Drink of the Day: Weng Weng Recipe

Our cocktail recipe today is called the Weng Weng. It is a Filipino cocktail created by a chef named Erwin. His nickname was Weng weng, and thus the name for the cocktail.

We all know how much Filipinos love their booze, and this is proof as to how much. This cocktails is LETHAL! I swear. Anyway, here is how you make it:

In a shaker filled half-way with ice, combine:

  • 1 shot of gin
  • 1 shot of vodka
  • 1 shot of tequila
  • 1 shot of light rum
  • 1 dash of brandy
  • 1 dash of scotch
  • 1 dash of grenadine
  • 2 shots of orange juice
  • 2 shots of pineapple juice
shake until cold and fully combined and then pour in a collins glass. garnish with an orange slice and a cherry...then prepare to get wasted

note: if you do not have brandy or scotch you may skip this step.

We returned from a cruise with a Filipino crew and participated in a scavenger hunt. One thing to find was the 7 spirits of the weng weng. The drink was not on any menu, but every bartender on board could make it. Your recipe is missing an equal amount of bourbon.
